Xiaomi pulled all digital terminals on Monday to showcase its latest smartphone crown jewel, Mi 11 Ultra, as the Chinese company launched the world-leading Mi Ultra for the first time. The Mi 11 Ultra, which was announced alongside Mi 11 Lite and Mi 11 Lite 5G in a hypothetical event that lasted for hours on Monday, is packed with the kind of best specs you might expect from one of the best Android phones. From 2021.

But its standout feature is a second screen, which is even more bizarre when you consider that the Mi 11 Ultra is not a foldable phone.

There’s a screen up front, of course – a 6.81-inch AMOLED panel. But there is also a small second screen located on the huge camera bump, to the right of the three rear cameras. This screen takes the form of a 1.1-inch AMOLED, which Xiaomi says is useful for obtaining information and alerts such as battery life, time and incoming calls if the phone is upside down. Most importantly, it displays previews of selfies, which means you can rely on the Mi 11 Ultra’s three “professional” rear cameras to take selfies.

The rear camera unit on the Mi 11 Ultra consists of a 50MP main sensor as well as a 48MP wide-angle lens and a 48MP telephoto lens. The text on the camera’s giant bump lists “120x”, which surpasses Samsung’s signature 100x Space Zoom feature seen in the recent Ultra versions of the S20, S21 and Note 20. Plus, it has a 10x optical zoom, making the Mi 11 Ultra king. Real Zoom.

As you’d expect from the flagship, Mi 11 Ultra has a top-of-the-line laundry list as well: a crystal-clear display; The fastest Android processor out there, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888; 5000mAh large battery; A set of stereo speakers developed by Harman Kardon; And trifecta to support fast shipping.

Xiaomi hasn’t announced pricing outside of China yet, but the 256GB variant, the model being launched internationally, will sell for 6,499 yuan (roughly $ 990, £ 715, or AU $ 1,295). For more details, take a look at the spec chart below.
