Only four players in NFL history finished a season with over 4,500 yards, more than 30 drops, fewer than 10 interceptions and averaging over 8.5 yards per pass. Those quarterbacks were:
Peyton Manning in 2004, when the Colts went 12-4.
Aaron Rodgers In 2011, when the Packers went 15-1.
Ryan died In 2016, when the Falcons went 5-11.
And the Deshawn Watson In 2020, when Texas went 4-12.
Watson’s performance this season has been unprecedented because usually when the midfielder plays at the best player level, his team wins. Watson spent his impressive season at one of the worst teams in the NFL.
Texas has lost eight games this season as Deshawn Watson throws 25 or more passes and has a pass rate of over 100. Never before has a midfielder lost more than five games in a season.
It’s hard to be as bad as Texas when he plays quarterback as he plays Watson, but Texas has found a way. Unfortunately for Watson, Texas is poorly paid for and has no choice in the first round or the second round pick next season. It will be difficult for Houston to improve. Watson does everything he can.
