Sundays lull before a week of active weather

Sunday will be a quiet Valentine’s Day with an overcast sky and a gust or two. Then a very active week of weather begins on Monday with light snow then heavy snow and winter mix on Tuesday. Mostly cloudy on a Sunday. Some of us can get a few light snow showers during the afternoon with dust removal. This upper system has weakened greatly, so it didn’t come with much snow (if any!). Cloudy early in Presidents Day (Mondays) with snow showers during the afternoon may get slippery on the roads around commuting time in the evening. The highs have returned to nearly 30 degrees during the afternoon, and the periods of snow will rise from the southwest to the northeast on Monday night, and become abundant overnight until dawn Tuesday, and the latest shift in thinking expected is more warm air to infiltrate the areas South of Concord, allowing to turn into sleet and sleet. Snow will continue steadily north and west of Concord, and all areas will end with snow with rain on Tuesday evening. Travel conditions will likely be chaotic across the state on Tuesday, with a break in motion mid-week, with bright sunrise on Wednesday. A second, stronger storm was expected to blow from the south late on Thursday. While the uncertainty remains higher with this system, a round of snow, ice and rain is possible. Get a great weekend break!
