Rumors about the next model of Apple’s favorite compact smartphone are already in effect, although it may take more than a year before we see it.
Analyst Ross Young was sent to Twitter April 1 – a grain of salt, etc. – the next iPhone SE in 2022 will arrive with the same 4.7-inch form factor as the current SE. This updated modelYoung books, can also come equipped with sub-65G GHz contrast instead of supporting all bands, including Ultrafast millimeter wave spectrum. Young also mentioned that he had heard of a 6.1-inch model with a “hole rather than a hole” that could be released in 2023.
Some of this is irony with a previous report from trusted Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo last month. Quoting from Kuo Supply Chain Report, 9to5Mac I mentioned that Kuo, too, is expecting 5G connectivity to arrive in the 2022 iPhone SE model. Kuo also said he expects the 2022 model to have a 4.7-inch design, but with an upgraded processor.
The most interesting among these rumors is that Apple may be planning to eliminate the form factor of the SE to get a bigger screen. It’s unclear if the SE will wear the same size with thinner bezels, or if Apple will increase the size of the SE (the latter would be bad news for the small handful among us).
Since it’s been apparently more than a year since we got a newer iPhone SE – according to reports having a new release expected for 2022 – there’s still plenty of time for the SE rumors to generate hype about a newer, more powerful device. But it looks interesting.
