“The Disneyland The resort, the largest employer in the heart of Orange County, has stepped up to host the county’s first super POD site – doing a mammoth job in our vaccination distribution process, county chief Andrew Do said in a statement. “We really appreciate the support of the Orange County Fire Department, our cities, and our residents as we continue to roll out COVID-19 vaccines across the county.”

Vaccinations are currently available to residents and people working in Orange County who meet the criteria listed for Phase 1A of the California vaccine rollout. This population includes law enforcement, first responders in high-risk communities and people 75 years of age or older.

Those eligible for vaccination will be contacted through the employer to set an appointment. COVID-19 infection rates have soared in California in recent months, as the state topped more than 2 million cases. Disneyland has remained closed since March due to the pandemic, although Downtown Disney was able to operate at limited capacity according to state guidelines.
