Disneyland becomes the first mega COVID vaccine site in Orange County

The Happiest Place on Earth is Set to Become a Premium Covid-19 A vaccine, Orange County officials announced Monday.

The resort will be the first of five regional POD sites, or distribution point, in the region, which will be able to vaccinate thousands of residents daily, according to the province. Press release. It will be launched later this week.

“It’s important to vaccinate as many people as possible who are prepared for the COVID-19 virus, and we need space to do that,” said Superintendent Donald B. Wagner. “I thank Disneyland Resort and Anaheim for stepping up joint efforts to give OC residents protection from the virus.”

Those eligible for vaccination will be contacted through the employer to set an appointment. COVID-19 infection rates have soared in California in recent months, as the state topped more than 2 million cases. Disneyland has remained closed since March due to the pandemic, although Downtown Disney was able to operate at limited capacity according to state guidelines.
