On October 1, 1971, Walt Disney World Resort officially opened to guests for the first time, a culmination of years spent imagining, planning and developing Walt Disney’s magical dream. In the five decades that followed, the holiday destination has continued to expand with new stories, characters, and adventures that we cherish for life. And now with a major achievement nearing, guests can participate in the “most magical celebration in the world” starting October 1, 2021, in honor of the 50th resort.Y Anniversary.
Walt Disney World Resort will deliver the “most magical celebration in the world” in honor of 50 yearsYAnniversary, offering new experiences for all four theme parks and beyond. This landmark is such a big deal, that Disney even coined a new word – “EARidescence” – to describe what guests would see when they visited. The Disney teams are creating all kinds of new decorations that sparkle and sparkle throughout the day and into the night.
As part of the celebration, Cinderella’s castle in Magic Kingdom Park will add to its royal makeover last year. The castle will contain 50 gold and 50 bannersY Anniversary logo as part of his new festive look.
The castle will add more magic at night, and is joined by icons in each of the other three parks as it turns into beacons of magic, including the fairies’ dust in Cinderella’s castle. Magical fireflies that inhabit the Tree of Life in Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park, and new special touches come to life at the Hollywood Tower Hotel in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
And at EPCOT, New lights will shine through the reflective panels of the Earth spaceship, Connected to each other and like the stars in the night sky. This permanent new lighting will continue beyond “the world’s most magical celebration” as a defining feature of the park.
Guests will also want to keep an eye out for Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse, who will attend Shine new party looks. As event hosts, they will dress for the occasion in custom EARidescent fabric with gold accents.
