Bob Evans remembers thousands of pounds of sausage after consumers found the rubber in the product

Bob Evans Recalling Thousands of pounds of sausage after receiving complaints about the thin blue rubber in products. The Ohio-based company said the affected products were produced on Dec.17.

The recall affects 4,200 pounds of raw pork sausage packaged in 1 pound. Chub called “Bob Evans sausage”. The affected products have batch code 0352 and the date “USE / FRZ BY” dated Jan 31st. EST. 6785 “imprinted over the USE / FRZ BY” date, and the products were shipped to retailers in Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.

It was not immediately clear what caused the contamination or how the rubber ended up in the products.

According to the recall notice Posted on the website of the USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service, the company received numerous consumer complaints resulting in a reconnection. FSIS fears that consumers may have affected products stored in freezers. Products that have been withdrawn from service should not be consumed and must either be disposed of or returned to the place of purchase.
