Beyonce And the Jay-Zdaughter Blue ivy, She just won a few machines at the Grammys – making her the second youngest person to ever win the award.
Bey and Blue just won Best Music Video … a pre-broadcast award, which starts at 5 PM PDT. The Recording Academy provided props for the team, with tagging Beyoncé and the BI tag (since she doesn’t have Twitter yet), plus Wizkid.
The academy wrote, “Congratulations to the winner of Best Music Video – ‘BROWN SKIN GIRL’Beyonce #BlueIvywizkidayo Sparkles #GRAMMYs.'” The accompanying audio and video clip was part of Beyonce’s The Lion King’s album, The Gift – and yes, Blue DOES has a verse there.
Throughout the video she appears alongside her mother, but at the end … Blue dishes at the end, almost identical to the foreground and chorus … “Brown-skinned girl / Your skin is just like pearl // the best thing in the world // I will never exchange you for anyone else I sing. “
It’s a small, but important contribution … and Blue is even a landmark name in the song. So, yeah … she also gets the credit, and just as importantly, she also gets a figurine – she joins her folks, who have had dozens of Grammys in between. Now, it’s a family affair!
At the age of nine, Blue became one of the youngest artists to be honored. In 2002, the musical group The Peasall Sisters won a Grammy Award for Best Album for the soundtrack for the song “O Brother, Where Art Thou?” To which they contributed to “the highways”.
The youngest of these three sisters, Leah, She was 7 when she scored and 8 when she and her other two brothers won. Still, the ubiquitous impressive for Blue … congratulations !!!
