Respawn Devs has revealed in a new broadcast that the ninth season of Apex Legends will include a “ton” of content from its spiritual ancestor, Titanfall.
FPS fans remember the wild science fiction shooting series, and if you’ve played that series, it’s easy to spot the similarities on a tour of Apex Legends.
Both battle royale and FPS are made by Respawn and are located in the same universe. But, according to the developers, Apex is on the verge of getting a lot more content than ever from Titanfall that will appear in Season 9.
During a panel hosted by a number of Respawn developers BrownGirlGamerCodeApex Senior Writer Ashley Reed spoke more about the relationship between the two games, and how they would have integrated Titanfall into Apex in the future.
“What happens in Titanfall is a war, Apex is what happens after the war, like what does life look like in this place?” Reid explained. “So we are trying to incorporate Titanfall into that, because Titanfall is a very large part of the universe.”
We’ve already seen some similarities between the two games, for example, multiple weapons of Titanfall appeared in Apex, and who could forget the massive Leviathans (AKA Moyais) towering above the Battle Royale?
Titanfall content really appears to be just the tip of the iceberg, as Apex Legends director Chad Grenier has promised a “ton” coming in Season 9.
Grenier hinted, “Next season, Season 9, you’ll already see quite a bit of Titanfall coming back into the game in one way or another.”
“I’ve told some people before, if you’re a fan of Titanfall, wait for Season 9 because there are going to be some really cool things out there.”
Grenier apparently has not gone into specifics of what will come our way next season. So, barring any leaks or new information in the meantime, we just have to wait and see what Titanfall fans have to feel when Respawn officially announces it.
